Lindsay Foale and Co. was started by Michael Lindsay Foale 25 years ago; at first selling directly to members of the public at Craft Events throughout the UK.

After 3 years, Michael and his wife Jo bought Mill Garth, a newly renovated farm house with buildings to the rear. There they refurbished and extended the buildings to form a Craft Centre comprising a Craft Shop, Art Gallery, Restaurant and Garden Centre. They ran the Centre for almost 14 years. Throughout this time, display furniture was designed, made and sold via the on-site shop.

The Craft Centre was eventually closed and converted into a house, now known as Old Tom's Barn, after Tommy Baker the character farmer who ran the farm for most of his life.

The range of furniture is now produced in modern workshop facilities with the administration still being carried out from Old Tom's Barn.

The furniture is now sold extensively through the UK and sales worldwide are steadily growing.
